Rams IV Vs Crows

The Crows travelled to Rams' impressive Old Bath Road ground on a sunny February day, with a strong squad in determined mood. A win would put Crowthorne in a realistic position to chase the league title. The Crows had 5 changes in the pack, 2 positional, with Osborne back in his familiar loose head position, Bullett back into hooker, Mollett at tight head, Clarkson shifting to openside and George Watson back in at number 8. Crows Vs Phoenix

January 28th 2023 marked the club's annual Presidents day. A great opportunity to honour a founding member and long term servant of the club, Ian "Chippy" Macleod! To start the day, the Thorns put on a fine display in an excellent festival of Women's rugby, in which 3 teams combined to put on an entertaining game and a good time was had by all who took part. Following this, the President's lunch got into full swing. So much so, that the assembled dignitaries completely forgot to bring the new scoreboard to the touchline for a pre match presentation. However, that was rectified…

Crows Vs High Wycombe II

In Monsoon like conditions, the Crows started 2023 by welcoming Buckinghamshire side, High Wycombe to the Nest. In the Crowthorne pack, there was a return to action for Kank Osborne at loose head and Sam Clarkson at number 8. The Arborfield assassin, Henry Wareing made his first start at 9 and opted to leave his tights at home this week! There was also a return to the starting lineup for Dan Coombes, this week at fullback. Amongst the replacements, there was the welcome sight of Josh Roberts, coming back into the squad after a 3 month injury lay off. The opening exchanges…

BRFC 3’s vs The Crows

The Crows began December as they travelled the short distance to local rivals, Bracknell. Having not played since the 12th of November, due to a bye week and Reading 3's failure to field a side, Crowthorne were glad to get back on the pitch. Tom Dawkes returned at scrum half, for his first appearance since the 1st of October and George Watson was back at number 8, having missed the previous match. Bracknell 3's fielded a very strong side, with no less than 13 changes from the last meeting with Crowthorne in September. Bracknell demonstrated the depth of their player pool, having…

Reading Abbey II vs The Crows

On yet another unseasonably warm autumn day, the Crows again travelled across County lines, this time to Oxfordshire and Reading Abbey RFC. No less than 3 of the Crows' contingent were returning to their old club, with prop, (although on this occasion, openside flanker), Jake Mollett, fly half, John Holden and inside centre, Charlie Shackleford. This fixture had looked tricky for quite some time for the Crows management team, as several players were due to be unavailable due to holidays, England v Japan and injuries. However, with some creativity in selection and buoyed by a couple of new recruits, Crowthorne were able…
