On a lovely Autumnal September afternoon competitive rugby returned to Crowthorne with Didcot RFC providing the opposition. After some stout defence Didcot broke the deadlock half way through the first half whilst also forcing a yellow card on the Crows for persistent infringements. Unable to retain any possession or territory through the first half Crowthorne were unable impose their game plan and went into the break 0-15 down. Continued I’ll discipline cost the Crows again in the 2nd half with two players spending time on the touch line. During this time Didcot were able to exploit the gaps on the field and score some good try’s out wide. The Crows showed signs of what may be to come with a number phases of rugby one of which delivering a penalty try to at least register a score. Didcot ran out 7-53 winners. Man of the Match was the Crows No9 Matt Jee who worked hard all game both in defence and attack, making some huge tackles and driving his pack around the field. The Crows travel to Drifters next Saturday.
